Musings from Our President on Our Renewed Focus + the New Brand
When we launched MPLS MadWoman nearly six years ago, we wanted to create a space for women to come together and support each other’s personal and professional ambitions. We built a forum for women to be inspired and connect. We talked about then-taboo topics like imposture syndrome, gender equality, pay equity, surviving motherhood, aging, sexual harassment and discrimination.
A lot has changed in those six years. Many of those topics are not taboo and are happening out in the open, social movements have blossomed and new organizations popped up in our community. There are more places than ever where women feel comfortable having these conversations. It’s amazing.
As we turn to look at the future of MPLS MadWomen, we remain committed to helping women achieve their goals. Specifically, by building meaningful, one-to-one relationships through mentorship. This gives women the much-needed opportunity to connect, network and learn from those more senior in their careers.
By focusing our efforts around this need, we will serve our community, grow women leaders in the creative space and continue to establish the Twin Cities as a leader in gender equality in the marketing/communications-related fields.
Spring-boarding off our strategic shift, we are simultaneously debuting our new brand identity. We worked with Little & Company to create a look that represents the dynamism of our members and the fresh direction. Little graciously volunteered their services and have been tremendous partners in the process.
We could not do this without all of you. Thank you for your time, financial support and participation in this community. You make us better. You make each other better. We shine when you shine.
